An Introduction to Indigenous Comics Studies

This guide provides resources and research tips to support the study of Indigenous comics and graphic novels.

Search Haskell Library Catalog

The Tommaney library holds print or digital copies of most of the materials listed below. Materials not found in the library catalog are noted, along with alternative access methods.

  • To find more books in the library, use the search bar to the left under Find More Books to search the online catalog by Title OR Author OR Subject terms (e.g. "Graphic novels History and criticism")  OR Call number OR Keyword(s), e.g. (comics or graphic novels or comic books) AND (Indigenous or Native).
  • To find books not held by Tommaney Library, use the Google Books search bar to the left. Google Books offers previews of many books and full text searches that can help you determine if you may want to request a book via Interlibrary Loan.

Suggestion: if you are not sure about the subject terms to use, click on a link for any of the Haskell library books listed below and scroll down to Subject Terms in the bibliographical record. Click on a relevant term to see all library holdings on that subject.
