How to Find Databases

Explore your library's accessible electronic databases to find journals and articles on the topic. Use an Advanced Search option to search multiple key terms using AND/OR. If an aspect of your search is not surfacing in the results, you might look to the Subject Terms list to focus your search results. Google Scholar is also a tool to search scholarly articles on the topic.

  • Utilize JSTOR to find thousands of journal articles and book sources on theory and field examples. Narrow results with multiple search terms and sorting by "Subject" (ie: American Indian Studies, Education, Language and Literature).

  • Specializing in legal materials, this database has thousands of articles on government and law related subjects. Utilize multiple key search terms (ie: Indigenous methodologies AND research) and try narrowing the results by sorting by "Topic" on the left hand side (ie: Indigenous Peoples, Arts and Literature, Indian Law).
