Environmental Studies (ENVS): Organizations

The Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences (AESS) is an independent faculty-and-student-based professional association in higher education, designed to serve the needs of environmental scholars and scientists who value interdisciplinary approaches to research, teaching, and problem-solving.

The Council provides technical support, training and services aiming at protection of the health of Native Americans, the natural resources and the environment.

The Center is a section of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry's academic programs. They offer the Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership, which funds Indigenous students who want to pursue a graduate degree in ecology, sustainability, conservation biology, restoration, or environmental engineering. Applications for the partnership are open now.

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) is a nonprofit organization of scientists founded in 1915 to promote ecological science by improving communication among ecologists, raise the public’s level of awareness of the importance of ecological science, and increase the resources available for the conduct of ecological science.

Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) is an Indigenous-led organization guided by a diverse group of Indigenous knowledge keepers, water protectors and land defenders from communities and regions across Canada.

The Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN), is an alliance of grassroots indigenous peoples whose mission is to protect the sacredness of Mother Earth from contamination and exploitation by strengthening maintaining and respecting the traditional teachings and the natural laws.
